How I’d Book a $12,500 Overwater Bungalow in Bora Bora With Chase Points (70% Bonus Ends Oct 15!)

Chase is giving a 70% bonus on transfers to Marriott Bonvoy through October 15. Here’s exactly how I’d turn about 269,000 Chase points into 5 nights in an overwater bungalow at The Westin Bora Bora, step by step with screenshots.

Here’s how I would book a $12,500 luxury vacation in Bora Bora using Chase points, and you only have until October 15 to make it happen!

⚠️ This is an example. Marriott award and cash prices change by night, room and number of guests, so check live pricing for your own dates before transferring.

The deal

Through October 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, Chase is offering a 70% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy, so every 1,000 Chase points becomes 1,700 Marriott points. Your regular points usually arrive within minutes, but the bonus can take up to 7 days to post.

How to book it

1. Search with points

Open the Marriott Bonvoy app, search Bora-Bora, French Polynesia, and turn on Use Points. Traveling as a couple? Set 2 guests, since the price can change.

2. Choose flexible dates (the most important step!)

Tap the dates, check My dates are flexible, and continue. This unlocks a calendar of points prices.

3. Find the cheapest nights

Tap Browse Dates on the hotel. Each date shows its nightly points price, and the green ones are the cheapest.

4. Book 5 nights to get one free

Right now, when you book 5 nights in a row with points, your cheapest night is free, and the app already includes that in the total. For May 15–20, 2027, an overwater bungalow at The Westin Bora Bora is 456,000 points, plus a $112 daily destination fee.

5. Check the cash price

Tap View Rates. The same room costs $12,525 in cash, and the points rate has free cancellation until April 15, 2027.

6. Transfer from Chase, then book

Divide the Marriott points you need by 1.7 and round up to the next 1,000. Here, that’s 269,000 Chase points. In your Chase account, go to Ultimate Rewards, choose the option to transfer points to a travel partner, and pick Marriott Bonvoy. Transfers can’t be undone, so only move points once you’ve found your dates. When the bonus posts, re-check the price and tap Select to book.

Why it’s worth it

$12,525 for 269,000 Chase points works out to about 4.7 cents per point (about 4.4 cents after the destination fee). Most people call anything around 1.5–2 cents a solid redemption. When I priced this same stay in the Chase Travel portal, even with Points Boost, it came out to 653,000 Chase points.

Bora Bora is just my dream example. These same steps work for any Marriott hotel, so go find yours!
