Okay bestie, Costco is officially on DoorDash, and there’s a 20% off code floating around. Naturally my first question was: is it actually a deal, or is it a trap? 👀 I compared every item to costco.com member pricing AND tested the code at a real DoorDash checkout (no, I didn’t actually buy it 😅). Here’s the tea.
📅 Heads up: everything in this post is based on the prices I saw on October 14, 2026. Prices and coupons change, and I live about 30 minutes from my Costco, so my suggested Dasher tip is most likely higher than yours would be. Run the numbers in your own cart before you buy!
🛒 The Deal in 10 Seconds
- Code: COSTCO20
- What you get: 20% off a Costco order of $100+ on DoorDash
- Max discount: $50
- Ends: November 1, 2026
- The catch: one use per person, delivery only (no pickup), and it doesn’t come off fees, tax or tip
- Bonus stack #1: DoorDash shows Costco sale coupons (“Buy 1, save $X”), and the 20% code comes off after the coupon. I confirmed this at checkout.
- Bonus stack #2: if you have a Chase Sapphire card, your monthly $10 DoorDash non-restaurant promo stacks on top (Preferred gets one a month, Reserve gets two). Also confirmed at checkout.

🧮 The Math (This Is the Part Nobody Tells You)
DoorDash prices at Costco are not the same as Costco prices. At my local Costco:
- Everyday items run about 11% higher on DoorDash than Costco’s price.
- Most big-ticket items (headphones, vacuums, kitchen gadgets) run about $13 higher. A few, like the CALPAK luggage set, are only $3 higher.
So part of the 20% just cancels out the markup. That’s why big-ticket items win, and items with a DoorDash coupon win even bigger.
✨ Example 1: My Real Checkout (Shark FlexStyle IonCurl)
DoorDash (my actual checkout screen):
- Item price: $312.99
- DoorDash coupon (“Buy 1, save $66.75”): −$66.75
- COSTCO20 (20% of $246.24): −$49.25
- Chase Sapphire monthly benefit: −$10.00
- Delivery fee: $0.00 (DashPass)
- Service fee: $10.95
- Estimated tax: $16.33
- Suggested Dasher tip: $28.01
- DoorDash total: $242.28
Costco.com:
- Item price: $239.99 (after Costco’s $60 off, valid through October 18, 2026)
- Shipping: $0.00
- Tax at the same 8.25% rate DoorDash charged me: $19.80
- Costco total: $259.79
💰 DoorDash came out $17.51 cheaper, and that’s with a $28.01 tip. The tip is up to you, so your savings change with what you tip. Before fees, tax and tip, the item itself cost me $186.99 on DoorDash vs. $239.99 at Costco.
✨ Example 2: No Coupon, Still $250+ (Bose QuietComfort Ultra)
- Costco price: $379.99
- DoorDash price: $392.99 (+$13)
- 20% off = $78.60, but it’s capped, so −$50 → $342.99
- Chase $10 −$10 → $332.99
💰 That’s $47 less than Costco’s price, before DoorDash’s service fee and tip. Those come out of your savings, just like in Example 1.
✨ Example 3: Regular Groceries
A $250 DoorDash cart of groceries is about $225 worth of stuff at Costco prices. After the $50 code and $10 Chase promo, you pay about $190, roughly $35 less before fees. But add the service fee and tip, and that savings mostly disappears.
Bestie rule of thumb: since you can only use this code once, use it on something with a DoorDash coupon, or on items totaling $250+ so you get the full $50.
🏆 The Best Deals: Items With a DoorDash Coupon
How to read these tables: “You Pay” = DoorDash price, minus the coupon, minus the 20% code (max $50), minus the $10 Chase promo. “You Save” compares that to Costco’s item price. Both are before tax, DoorDash’s service fee and tip, so your real savings will be lower once you add those, like in Example 1.

These get 20% off instead of the full $50. Same rules as above: savings are before tax, DoorDash’s service fee and tip. On the cheaper items, the service fee and tip can eat up most of the savings, so these work best paired together to reach $250 (see the combo tip below).

💡 Combo tip: two items from this list can get you to $250 so you unlock the full $50. Example: AirPods Pro 3 + CALPAK luggage set is $405.98 on DoorDash → $50 off + $10 Chase = $345.98. That’s $44 less than buying both at Costco ($389.98), before tax, DoorDash’s service fee and tip.
✅ So… Is It Worth It?
YES if you use it on something big you were already going to buy, especially anything with a DoorDash coupon. The coupon, the 20% code and your Chase Sapphire promo all stack. In my real checkout, I still came out $17.51 ahead of Costco after the service fee, tax and a $28.01 tip.
NOT REALLY for a regular grocery run. Once you add service fees and tip, the savings mostly disappear.
📝 How to Use It
- Log into DoorDash, search Costco and pick your local warehouse.
- Link your Costco membership when it asks. This is what unlocks the “Buy 1, save $X” coupons.
- Add your items. The coupons apply automatically in your cart.
- At checkout, tap “Deals & gift cards” and enter COSTCO20.
- Pay with your Chase Sapphire card and tick the “Chase monthly benefit” box for $10 off.
