How I Got Coffee & Breakfast Delivered for 5 Cents Out of Pocket

I stacked my Amex Gold dining credit, free Grubhub+ with Amazon Prime, and the APP100 promo code to get coffee and breakfast delivered for just $0.05 out of pocket. Here’s exactly how.

I just got coffee AND breakfast delivered straight to my house for only FIVE CENTS out of pocket using my Amex Gold! Let me show you exactly how I did it, step by step, so you can do it too.

What You Need

  • The Amex Gold Card, enrolled in its $10 monthly dining credit (Grubhub is an eligible partner)
  • Amazon Prime, which gets you Grubhub+ for free
  • The Grubhub app and promo code APP100 (valid through November 1, 2026)

Step 1: Activate Grubhub+ for Free with Prime

If you have Amazon Prime, you get Grubhub+ for FREE! That means $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on eligible orders. You also need to be an active Grubhub+ member for the promo code to work, so don’t skip this step.

Grubhub+ is free with Amazon Prime promo page

Step 2: Download the Grubhub App

The promo is an app exclusive, so it only works in the Grubhub app, not on the website.

Step 3: Grab the APP100 Promo Code

RIGHT NOW, code APP100 gets you up to $20 off each of your first THREE delivery orders in the Grubhub app. That’s up to $60 in free food!

Step 4: Build Your Order and Apply the Code

I added my coffee (an Iced Pecan Crunch Latte) and a Bacon, Sausage & Egg Wrap to my cart for a $20.90 subtotal. The code takes up to $20 off your subtotal, so getting your cart close to $20 is how you get the most out of it. Then I applied APP100 at checkout!

Grubhub checkout with APP100 applied: $20.90 subtotal, $0 delivery, total $4.43

Here’s how the checkout broke down:

  • Subtotal: $20.90
  • Delivery fee: $2.99 $0.00 with Grubhub+
  • Service fee: $3.14 $1.67 with Grubhub+
  • Tax: $1.86
  • APP100 offer: -$20.00

That brought my total down to just $4.43 before tip!

Step 5: Tip Your Driver and Pay with Your Amex Gold

I added a $5.62 tip for my driver, which brought my total to $10.05. Then I paid with my Amex Gold!

Step 6: Get Your $10 Dining Credit Back

The $10.05 charge shows up on my Amex Gold, and because Grubhub is an eligible dining partner, I’ll get my $10 monthly dining credit back as a statement credit.

$10.05 charged − $10.00 dining credit = $0.05 out of pocket. I literally paid FIVE CENTS for coffee and breakfast delivered straight to my door! 🙌

Bestie Tips Before You Try This

  • Enroll in the Amex Gold dining credit first. It’s not automatic. You have to enroll once in your Amex account or app.
  • The dining credit resets monthly. It’s use-it-or-lose-it, so if you haven’t used this month’s $10 yet, now’s your chance.
  • You still pay tax, service fees, and tip. The code only discounts your food subtotal, which is why my total wasn’t $0 before the Amex credit.
  • You get three uses. Use APP100 on up to three delivery orders before it expires November 1.

The Fine Print, Simplified

APP100 promo code

  • Valid on eligible orders placed from October 12, 2026 at 12:01 AM through November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM (local time).
  • You must be an active Grubhub+ member to redeem.
  • Grubhub app only and delivery orders only.
  • Up to $20 off your order subtotal; the minimum subtotal is just $0.01.
  • Limit three redemptions per user.
  • You’re still responsible for taxes, government charges, and any tip.
  • Not valid on orders with alcohol, catering, or scheduled group orders. May not combine with certain other discounts.
  • Valid for intended recipients only, subject to restaurant and delivery availability and redemption limits. Grubhub can change or cancel the offer at any time, and they’re expecting high demand.

Grubhub+ benefits

  • $0 delivery fees and lower service fees apply to standard delivery orders from Grubhub+ eligible restaurants that meet the subtotal minimum shown on the menu page. Other fees, like a service fee, may still apply.
  • 5% pickup credit on eligible pickup orders, shown as “Grubhub+ Credit” at checkout. It’s not transferable or redeemable for cash, can’t be used on alcohol or on-campus dining, and expires 90 days after your most recent credit is issued.
  • Discounted priority delivery is available when offered and selected at checkout on eligible orders.
  • Groceries (Powered by Instacart): $0 standard delivery fees on grocery orders of $35+. Lower service fees, discounted priority delivery, the 5% pickup credit, and donation matching don’t apply to grocery orders.

This is my summary of the terms. Both offers are subject to the full Grubhub Terms of Use (including the Perks Terms of Use), and Grubhub may change, suspend, or cancel them at any time.
